So he claims. However, if he really was the viceroy of god, then he would have been just and good. Clearly he has been so unjust and bad that the people have decided he needs to be killed for his crimes. Therefore he is not god's agent on earth and in fact blaspheming by claiming so. So we'll kill him and the natural leader of the rebellion was clearly nominated by god to remove this wretched criminal.
