This is the fate of many young men in the 100-130 segment of the bell curve - the market (and the educational system) promises them their own weight in gold for general intelligence and so they feel like they have won a golden ticket and they invest their efforts into developing it. Only long after their peers have emotionally matured they find out that technical reason is just one faculty of a human being and by no means the highest one or arguably even the most practical one.

This was a long term observation of mine but it was the most obvious in one acquaintance of mine, who is not actually high-IQ, but (through studying philosophy) he convinced himself that he is. You can so clearly tell how the man lives in his head and intellectualizes emotions so hard they always end up winning over him. Virgin for a long time too. Actually smart people at some point realize that they're missing part of the equation and that they have to match their EQ to their IQ. I have 133 IQ (real test) and I never had any experiences with girl as a teenager.
The reasons were:
1. No topic to talk about. Girls at that age (and often at all ages) only talk about extremely vapid topics that I physically cannot even pretend to like.
2. Awkwardness. High IQ results in a more focused perception of self, so you can't just throw yourself at girls and talk to them like normal people do, you always feel aware of what you say and how embarassing it can sound.
3. Solitude. The main factor that influences getting girls isn't physical appearance but being social. Even if you are ugly and retarded you are bound to get a girl by simply being outside with other people and getting to meet new girls every week. If you are high IQ you most likely have obscure interests and struggle to bond with other teens over things like sports or clubbing, so you are less social than your peers and don't have the same chances to meet girls.
Luckily this is a problem mostly contained to teenage years and early/mid 20s, once you escape from university and start working you get to meet 1. level-headed women who skipped vapid teenage love and want an actual serious relationships and 2. used up sluts who are tired of cock and want a wallet boy.

I have 160iq+ (maxed out the wais-IV). Being just a little different from your peers, especially as a kid, makes it difficult to socialize. And if you fall behind in the socialization game you are at a severe disadvantage. Nobody wants to talk to the 12 year old that acts like a 10 year old. People REALLY don't want to talk to the 16 year old that acts like a 12 year old.

That alone is already enough to fuck someone up, but there are more men than women with high IQ. There are 1.83 times more men than women above 130 IQ, and 4.3 times more men than women above 160iq. High IQ interests/hobbies, groups, classes, and peers are going to be mostly male. That's on top of high IQ being a rarity in general.

Outside of high IQ people (who can be annoying to interact with in their own ways), dumbing yourself down to talk to normies is exhausting.
You can't talk about certain things, you have to pretend to not know things you do know, you have to actively rephrase things and dumb down your speech pattern, but you have to do it carefully. Too little, and you come off as a weird sperg. Too much, and you seem patronizing or just retarded. You have to constantly gauge the other party's intelligence and knowledge and adjust to match. It's a skill that takes effort to develop.

Lastly, despite having a relatively high libido, I'm not all that motivated to have sex. I think a lot of intelligent people are the same way.
