See I get what you are getting at. Yiu're thinking of the the SLC + HERC combo of depigmentation but the IRF4 gene makes this complicated as it was fixated in WHGs and rare in most modern europeans. We can't tell how it interacted with Herc. IRF4 today is really only a thing in like Irish people

Hard to say how much IRF4 even does. The red hair gene MC1R is a certified melanin killer though. If you look at redheads from Morocco, Xinjiang etc they always have white skin.

There have been studied on Anglos and Latinx in the southwest US, because they carried two different M1CR variants and the latter causes darker pigments. M1CR has variants in all different species, it's why some gain red hair over time and it gets selected for like mammoths and neanderthal.
