Not all economies serve the same purpose, not all political modes serve the same purpose, some economics and some politics serve one goal and when they run that course it is time to shift to another.
Leftists are die hard one size fits all types. This is why they will see something like MAGA which is just whatever gets Boomers to clap as an ideology when it has absolutely zero ideological bend whatsoever and it’s completely bankrupt of core principles.
They see fascism as an ideology and monarchism as an ideology, even though both of those systems can produce praxis which is more socialist and more liberal than a state run by Marxist canon.

Some leftists are only after power, but they ultimately see power as a means to an end. However most leftists are pushing core principles which they are entirely inflexible on. They lack the ability to adapt.
They really are a relic of the 19th century and they exist as a creature in the shadow of “fascism” which itself has adapted.
It wouldn’t call itself fascism, not as disguise but genuinely, such is the success of its adaptation and successors.

Modern communism = socialism + "communist culture" which is just being angry at people. But nobody wants to get rid of capital or private ownership anymore, even long term, unless it's some cope about how after 200 years of global socialism eventually true communism will happen somwhow. It's more about the vibe of saying you are a communist and feeling good about yourself for being a decent human being.

The issue is the left never, EVER went through any serious self reflection over the cultural revolution, even Mao towards the end of his life himself demanded people engage in study groups on the cultural revolution to understand why extreme-democracy, led to mob violence as this was the single most pressing issue for the left, but sadly the study groups were cancelled by Deng.
This is the paradox of Democracy and Freedom, the more freedom and democracy you give people beyond a certain point, the more authoritarian and totalitarian the on the ground situation becomes.

Social democratic parties and "progressives" in the US have always been crypto-socialists LARPing as liberals, presenting their ideas as increasing liberty while increasingly transferring power to the state. It is the same modus operandi as the communists promising to redistribute land to the peasants who instead find themselves stuck in a "collective farm" run by a party official who lies about productivity and then has to empty the granaries to meet the new inflated quota leaving them to starve, ironically exploiting them even more than the previous landlords.

The only political entity I have any real familiarity with is the U.S., but what I think works for left-wing politics here are social democrats like Bernie, AOC and Zohran but there's a catch to it. You have to join the DSA first and tell the zoomers in it that you're anti-capitalist and be able to quote some rhetoric from Karl Marx, and enlist them as your army of slaves to knock on doors for you when you eventually make a run for high-profile public office whenever the Republicans get back in and the average normie Democrat is mad at their party for blowing the election. At the same time (Bernie was lacking this) you want to have a vibe that is comfy to the average Democrat who likes Obama. Try to remind them of Obama. Don't talk down to people either, that's bad, because it'll alienate the now decisive block of thirdie diaspora boomers who voted Trump because they thought he'd free Palestine or bust Imran Khan out of the clink.
