Differences in Ancient and Modern Religion
Is there any logic behind why "modern" Abrahamic religions are, for lack of better phrasing, way less cool than previous polytheistic religions? This is from an Agnostic/unknowing of religious history Perspective
Norse, Greek, and (I think) sumerian religions all had multiple gods, all related to different things, with their own personalities and appearances. They showed themselves in different ways and would genuinely fight amongst themselves like humans. I belive the Norse thought that their gods were in a constant fight for the survival of Earth. That's cool as fuck.
By comparison, Christianity/Islam/Judaism is one god that can magically do literally fucking anything instantly. They try to prop up an idea of fighting Satan, but in the case of Christianity even the lowest guardian angel, Michael, instantly fucking crushes him.
>this probably sounds onions but im genuinely curious
Is there any reasoning for this shift? Coincidence? something about society/psychology?
