When atheists complain about christianity, they are often actually complaining about roman Catholicism, so discussions are confusing.

Christianity is dying everywhere. It's never going to come back. Atheists and non religious people are now one fourth of the global population and the only religion growing as fast as atheism is Islam due to birthrates - Islam will also fall in 10 years. You religious people need to come to terms with the reality that God isn't real and religion isn't true. Religion will never make a comeback.

People who identify as Christians will be in the few thats correct but that only matters if to someone who has a strictly cultural and identitarian attachment to Christianity. And also conversely aithest think people identifying as non-religious or aithests means anything positive/substantive. As if all the negative associations they have with religious people will just disappear when people stop going to church, that their won't be insane fanatics and dogmatists.

I think it will be comical if anything when aithest have to come to terms with the fact that although religion is disappearing nothing has actually changed.

>Christianity is dying everywhere

Thank you for admitting that society went to shit about the same time that atheism came into power.

When atheists say "christianity is strong", it's because they want to play the victim and blame the current state of society on christians.

When atheists say "christianity is dying", it's because they want to demoralize christians. Just calmly remind them that current society is shit because of atheism running rampant.

Wouldn’t atheism and other degeneracy taking root in christian lands indicate serious flaws and failure? Atheism being bad doesn’t necessarily disprove Christianity being a failure

Society is objectively better now than it was when Christianity was a majority. Society is being turned to shit by low IQ Christian losers throwing widespread temper tantrums because they refuse to accept their religion is false. Thankfully you're still losing and society is still improving.
Jesus is never coming back and christianity is never going to grow again.

I don't know if one leads to the other, but rebellious movements in the 19th century could be more anti-clerical or outright atheistic in Catholic countries (France), while Protestant countries produced new revivalist denominations like during the Second Great Awakening. It was essentially a linked phenomenon during the transition out of feudalism and the beginning of mass movements and popular mobilization. Then in Russia you had people retreating into sects and mysticism but I don't know much about that.

There are over 2.6 BILLION Christians in the world, including 1.3 billion Roman Catholics alone. People who say "Christianity is dying" don't know what they're talking about. And almost all young Christians, especially young Catholics, actually follow the ban on birth control so they tend to have a lot of kids. The early 00s was basically the absolute nadir of Christianity everywhere, including in the West. Sheer numbers and demographics and behavior will ensure that they stick around, and even increase in number as nobody else has kids.

Yeah, because most Russians don't know Church Slavonic and can't read in it, you idiot. And just because they haven't read the Holy Bible in this ancient language doesn't mean they don't believe in God or understand the concept of God. Come to Russia and you'll see hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people visiting Sunday service. Most of them are young because zoomers and late millennials are more religious than their parents, who were raised atheist, and even their grandparents, who received some religious education, especially if they lived in rural areas, but not much. In fact, many Russian zoomers actually learn Church Slavonic just to read the Holy Bible.

I don't know about religious trends, but I can say that my local catholic church definitely has had a resurgence. A lot of young families and children. There has been a resurgence in tradition in a lot of parishes, and the more traditional ones tend to have the youngest crowd.
When times are tough religion tends to attract more people. I can't imagine it going away anytime soon.

Indeed, people just end up replacing it with surrogate religions like climatism, gender ideology or hedonism
