I'm tired of all the nostalgia about past times. Always winning about the present being the worst time and that the past was better. Who cares, people have been always the same, always. People in the middle ages couldn't act like now because they were fucking poor and could barely feed themselves. Do you think that if that people could have had more things and act like now that they wouldn't have done it too?

I get your point about materialistic people but who gives a fuck if people only like to spend their money in parties and fancy clothes, do you think the general population is going to start reading philosophy instead? Did the general population in Rome read philosophy and literature? No, they went to the Colosseum to get entertained and have fun. My point is that the people that read and is interested in deep themes are always a minority, no matter what time.
