how come that balts are less blonde than germanics? I thought that balts were the most blonde people because balt literally means white and they have less swarthy admixture than germanics. what is the reason balts this dark?

Are they counting people with dyed hair in that map? Ive been to Denmark and Finland natural blondes were very much in the few definitely less than 15%. Pic related is my standard for medium blonde and my educated guess puts it at 7-10%, I'd put it at much less in germany aswell.

I can't figure if the selection event for such a level of blonde hair was the Single Grave culture or Nordic Bronze Age, it could even be both technically. But several selection events occured before in the neolithic and even before for blonde hair in Scandinavia. Different genes even. But there is clearly a chalcolithic/bronze age selection causing this pattern.
