The allies had already agreed on the Soviets with making no separate peace. They wanted Germany thoroughly defeated. Germany lucked out FDR's brain exploded and the conservative democrats took control and started the cold war because a more cooperative US/USSR postwar relationship would have probably meant a much harsher peace for Germans instead of the kids glove treatment they ended up getting because both sides wanted to butter them up as cold war allies.
