It's very complex but it feels like a brick wall to approach for me. Like for Islamic history you immediately have a lead on to ask questions like "who did the crusaders fight specifically" and "why was there an emirate in Sicily" and then from asking these little questions you get vague answers and then precise answers, but with india it's just, where the fuck do you even start?

I am not an Indian. Never in my life have I seen an Indian statue or monument and asked how did it get there. It's not an entirely isolated history but it's so far apart from the entirety of my daily existence

I don't have this problem. I just read a general history of a subject or period than I take more particular subject like esotericism and less known facts.
