The girl being kissed on that famous V-J Day in Times Square photo, was wearing pink stockings

I remember reading that the woman in this photo was furious and didn't want to kiss him, and that the man was drunk.

The original is black and white and any colors added are at best an educated guess if not just fully made up by the artist.

pretty sure she was a dental assistant. did they wear pink?

I want to give humanity the benefit of the doubt that most people look at this photo as a couple in love, or at least two young and willing people effusively celebrating the end of the most stressful period of their lives
