Most would deny a God big G but also believe in ghosts, luck as a controlling force in daily life, and all sorts of other supernatural shit.

The vast majority of Asia is not on the rational materialist team. Not even in metropolitan Japan.

It's probably more apt to say that they're agnostic.
But, this >>17954555 also applies.
In the rural areas you'd probably would find more practitioners of Shintoism. You may find some here or there in other locations.
But, really the idea of gods in Shintoism isn't like in most religions. Kami have a special supernatural status, but not necessarily being gods. The word 'kami' is in the end a religious term specific to Shintoism.
