"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" [Genesis 1:1] means that [the heavens and the earth] were created for the good of the Jews, who are called the "beginning." This means that everything, all developments, all discoveries, creation, including the "heavens and the earth—are vanity compared to the Jews. The important thing is the Jews, because they do not exist for any [other] purpose; they themselves are the [divine] purpose."

I never doubted that Chabad-Lubavitch was a global movement with massive influence. I'm simply saying that I've heard some Jews say that Schneerson had some strange beliefs.

Anyone who’s lived in New York knows about him and his whack job followers. They’re mostly a quaint annoyance to the goyim but they go around in pairs like Mormons to pester Jews to be more religious, and drive around in giant RVs blasting music. Funniest thing I ever saw was an Israeli guy I knew, a secular party animal, cursing them out in Hebrew. They’re also the ones with the secret tunnels under the temple and the sect beefing with blacks in Crown Heights. There’s many different sects of these urban Amish in Brooklyn and surrounding areas but they’re the largest and most obnoxious.

These guys are hated by almost everyone, in Israel they harrass secular Jews, visiting religious pilgrims, Arabs etc. They don't have to do military service and sit on their ass all day on welfare reading old books and having 15 kids.
