I once told someone that television is meant for programming. That's why they're called TV programs to begin with. The person replied, "so where do you get your programming"?

That's when it hit me, everyone is really programmed (for the lack of a better term) by something. There is no way around it. If you get off of that intellectual and mental high horse for once, you would realize it. The world is full of control, manipulation, deception, brainwashing, everything like that. Nobody is above their own mind.

There's not a single person out there who has just got it all figured out by themselves. Even a Buddhist monk who spends 99% of his time in solitude meditating is only a Buddhist because he was taught Buddhism. Everyone relies on some sort of authority.

This is just how the world works but people never realize it because they're too arrogant to think of it that way. We are all sheep to something.

no it isn't you retard, it comes from theatres, where typically you'd be given a program, (coming from the greek word meaning public notice), a leaflet which'd give you information on the play or plays and a list of when the plays would start and when breaks would be etc. When tv first came about they'd hand out these print programs or broadcast them during the ads to show people what was the schedule for which shows would be on. At some point through misunderstanding this tv program became a list of tv programs.
the use of the word "program" to mean "programming someone to do something" came about LATER than tv programs. By the same logic of a program being a list of when events would occur, the lists of commands you would feed into computers would begin to be refered as such. From here you got "programming" as the act of writing these lists and telling computers what to do. This was later applied to people, in the sense you could "program" a person into doing something you want them to do, in the same way you would a computer.

Yeah, your mind is made to absorb information. All animals' brains do this, but humans have the widest capacity for it.

Even the words you are reading right now are manipulating you. I am conveying information to you through symbols on a screen. When you read these symbols, I transmit information into your brain. And the reason I can do this is because we were both trained on the same concepts, which was outside of our control. If you were born in another culture and your brain was subjected to different inputs, you could not understand anything I was conveying.

This should all put things into perspective for you and make you question what exactly is the nature of your "free will" when what you are able to comprehend is so limited by your environment and genetics.
