Was the protesting the cause for the U.S. to leave?
Anonymous No.17972295 >>17972307
The only reason the US left was the sheer amount of corruption by the Marxist Democrats allowing somebody like Nixon to get elected on the foundation of getting out of Vietnam.

They didn't care about the soldiers, they spit on them. They cared more about the dead commies

Soldiers were literally chosen based on a lottery
If your name happened to be called on a particular day then you were literally forced to participate in a war and potentially die when you didn't even ask
Thus, the army became filled with soldiers who didn't want to be there and didn't want to fight, so of course there was going to be protests. The whole draft system was fucking retarded since day 1 and anyone with a brain could've seen this coming. Thankfully Nixon gutted the draft system and we moved onto a volunteer force, which allowed the army to at least be filled with sociopathic killers that at least want to be there and are more willing to fight.

Yes. We could've won, but we let the gookies have the victory because people were complaining back home.

The Vietnam war was stupid and pointless, all that death & destruction over a political ideology

That and the fact that South Vietnam was a corrupt shithole that could never stabilize and that the US army wasn't allowed to pursue the enemy into North Vietnam proper.
