We don't really live in a world of competing ideologies anymore, and we're generally converging in the same direction, like how Holiday Inns look like Soviet-style apartment blocs. I live in the U.S. and my 3D printer in Chinese, and Trump killing a group of drug traffickers in the Caribbean is really just a more high-profile duplication of what the Chinese navy does to similar people with machine guns in the South China Sea.
