Did the KGC have contacts, recruits in the Lesser Antilles, Central and South America?
I have heard of wealthy families in Cuba and even some governors in Northern Mexico, rebels in S. California supporting and even considering joining the Confederacy but did the Knights of the Golden Circle (which started in the 1840s 1850s) have meetings or recruitments or more in Venezuela, Colombia, Central America and on the lesser Antilles?

There are quite a few old Venezuelan conspiracy theories that say yes, but there is no definitive proof.

The KGC was a Ponzi scheme run by a Northerner. When Confederate troops invaded Pennsylvania in June, 1863, they literally had a scam where they would sell bogus paper tickets to local farmers to "protect" their animals and crops from being seized. Naturally, the men of the Army of Northern Virginia had no fucking clue what these tickets were and just took what they needed anyway.

I've heard some people connect it to the failed attempt to overthrow the Venezuelan government in 2020.
