Would Russia have turned out OK without Americans giving their advice on how to run a country?

Yep its all the American's fault. Would have been a disaster if Russia ended up like Japan or West Germany.

The rest of the world would be better off because it would have meant Russians living like medieval serfs and starving by the millions as the union fell apart. The Americans who gave them all their industry saw a people who actively boasted about how they'd welch on all debts, and decided to take the gamble anyway on the off-chance Russia would actively work to improve itself.

Many Western Harvard boys like Anders ร…slund and Joseph Stiglitz actually knew a thing or two about the economy unlike the Russians, and they actually would have benefited from listening to the West more, not less.

If Lenin had anticipated Maoist thought Russia would have won
>radicalize farmers instead of homeless ex-serfs
>send intellectuals to Ukraine to plow the fields
>holodomor doesn't happen, Ukrainians become the most loyal patriots of the USSR
>enter WWII the only country not devastated by the Depression, steamroll Nazis before US can even consider intervening
>all Europe outside UK joins USSR
>landslide success of communist ideology prompts revolution in USA
>world socialist utopia by 1984
