Oldfag anon here, was born in Yugoslavia (Bosniak) in 79 and immigrated to Germany in 94 to escape the slaughter of the Bosnian war, at the time. Being an immigrant at the time, i felt warmly welcomed and well integrated, and absolutely nobody cared that I was foreign or my family was muslim (am an atheist myself, but I do respect all faiths and religions), to everyone I was a member of that community and treated as everyone else.

There was a sense in the 90s that racism and xenophobia were a thing of the past, we laughed at how absurd it all was and it seemed more and more thatbwe were moving towards a world of mutual respect and understanding between people of all races and nations. What changed? Why is anti immigrant sentiment and far right rethoric on the rise? Why we went from coexistence to open racial hostility? I meam it's not like racism didn't exist before, but now people openly talk 90s neo nazi points in open television, what has that dream of unity and understanding become?

It was always there but in the same way porn was: something you may endulge in but not acceptable in polite society. The concept of politeness and social norms pretty much got demolished in the West, social media gave the kiss of death to it. So naturally racism came bubbled up.

No. It isn't. Racism comes from recurring patterns of behavior from various races. If you're around these groups long enough, a consistent pattern of shitty behavior becomes a stereotype that they're known by.

You clearly live nowhere near a reservation where crime is sky high, it's very dangerous, and you'll see the worst alcoholism known to man. Indians don't just get buzzed and stop, like any normal person; they drink until they pass out in a pool of their own piss and vomit.

This. I grew up in the late 80s and 90s. Race was very nearly a solved problem. Then the career grifters tried to make Hurricane Katrina a race issue (George Bush doesn't care about Black people, etc), which paved the way for Obama to step in and turn EVERYTHING racial. Tensions between races have and will always exist, but things were almost fine for a while. What you're seeing now is just Whites waking up from the dream. Body cam laws and social media are making it impossible to turn a blind eye to what goes on with who now.
