I'll never understand where the nordic greek/romans myth came from.
Even the statues look like modern italians and greeks. You can see they are heavily dinaricized, they don't have a western appeareance at all.

Which is a mystery on its own. How could that've happened? The first response is immigration, but the nords who populated Italy after Rome's fall had the same levels of WHG, so the percentage shouldn't go down.

It's not a mystery. Greece, southern italy, and anatolia, which were home to east med profiles, were extremely overpopulated in classical era, so they moved everywhere, not just Italy but also france, spain and the balkans, and shifted everyone basically east. Almost all samples are eastern shifted compared to the iron age.
Nords didn't leave much genetic impact.
People get confused, the goths, which wanted to impose themselves on the native italian population, got genocided by belisarius (roughly 200k victims in the graeco-gothic wars) and the modern source of celtogermanic dna is lombards and franks, which were more peaceful, accepted to learn latin etc..

I think post-Roman Germanic admixture in Italy is overestimated. Modern Central Italians have more EEF than both Imperial Romans and Migration Period Germanics, so there was another element involved (likely just native Italics who were not as mixed with newcomers as the urban Romans).

Maybe, maybe not.
If we take the PCA chart, the WHG admixture would push them towards northern Italy, and more Yamnaya would push them towards Serbia and Bosnia, so the distance towards northern Euro is relatively the same.
