There's the history of Jews and communism, and then there's "Judeo-Bolshevism" as a myth (narrative) that certain rightists need to believe to sustain their own politics. Nazism is a very simple ideology. All the corruption and alienation of the modern world was caused by one race, the Jews, who are inherently evil. So all modern evils including capitalism, liberalism, modernism, and communism are essentially Jewish. The elimination of the Jews will the world and usher in the millennium.

It was brutal and authoritarian in reality but I think the dream of communism promised a way out of the Jewish predicament. It was like a substitute religion for Jews who stopped believing in God. They were revolting against their own Jewish parents, but they were also in a vulnerable position. Historically, they were traders, intellectuals, or worked in bureauratic roles rather than agriculture or the traditional aristocracy.
Communism is actually the spirit of capitalism without capitalism. It's paradoxically a bourgeois ideology taken to the extreme. The idea is industriousness and creativity as a way of life in an international, stateless society. Judaism as a religion is also much more about what you do, it's a very praxis-oriented faith. In communism, by eliminating the division of labor, work and play become one, and they would transcend their own "Jewish" identity in favor of a more universal one.
