Moses was a slave and had no wealth.
Jesus was a carpenter and had very little wealth
Buddha was a prince and renounced his kingdom/wealth/harem
Muhammad was a slave owner, a warlord and a pedophile spreading war/fear on his conquest

Shortly after being born, Moses stopped being a slave and became royalty. He did become a shepherd though, which I presume means he was low-class for a very long time.

Across cultures, giving up luxuries and comforts tends to promote focus, self-discipline, and reflection, which are key for divine insight in religious terms.
