What was the most common hair type in egypt? Looking at the mummies with their hair still intact it appears to have been an pretty even split between straight/wavy/curly with even a very small minority having kinky hair but i wonder has there been an study done on this?

Research indicates that ancient Egyptians exhibited a variety of hair textures. For instance, a study of mummies from the Badarian culture, dating back to around 4000 BCE, found that hair textures varied among individuals. Some had straight hair, while others curly hair. This diversity suggests that ancient Egyptians had a range of hair types, similar to modern populations.

Afros and whatever these are called, at least according to the art. Children wore their hair like that too. That funny side braid.

The braid carried on to recent history too, in various parts of Africa
