No, "Korean" is a Mongoloid language spoken by Mongoloids. While Japanese is utterly unique and is not and has never been spoken anywhere else in the world. It's actually quite unusual for such an advanced, well known nation.

As for "culture", their writing is essentially Chinese b/c Korea never even had writing, until VERY recently. Their formal religion is Buddhism, which is from India and is Vedic. While their social structure is broadly "feudal"/militaristic.

Also Ryukyuan is similar to Japanese despite not being Japan until very recently in history. The Japanese themselves likely originated from Korea too, Gaya specifically. Japan has Buddhism because it was brought to them by Koreans. Japanese imperial culture started as a copy paste of Tang Dynasty imperial culture. And early Japanese armor and weaponry is also from Baekje Korea, which later became samurai armor and weaponry.

All in all, the Japanese would be in the same situation as the Aboriginals were the Chinese and Koreans not there to give them civilization.
