Absolutely, it was the main export for silesian made stuff down the neisse, plus, when the border was drawn, germany was meant to remain a united but neutral nation, not split between east and west, so the loss of one relatively minor port, compared to hamburg and the likes, wasn't seen as something to cry about. Might as well make a stronger polish vassal state while you're at it

Why? The ethnic Germans in Poland were fanatical Nazis and one of their biggest strongholds of support, almost every able-bodied ethnic German male in Poland was a member of the Selbstschutz and were happy to take farms, property, etc from Poles. They got what they deserved.
