No, only "sick man" empires suffer such a fate. The clearest indication of a sick man empire is if there is massive corrupt to the point of wide spread embezzlement of military supplies (like ammunition). In such a situation, these empires are unable to defend themselves against smaller but better trained/equipped militaries.

GDP is a bullshit number it doesn't mean anything. And the only thing keeping that number afloat for the UK is the London banking sector, primarily helping oil sheiks, Russian oligarchs, and drug kingpins hide and launder their money. Without London, the UK has less GDP than Mississippi.

First, Britain lost of all of its territories (and influence) overseas. Then, it lost all of its prestige at home. We have long been the "haha, cucks" nation of Europe, but we are absolutely in the thick of our humiliation and decline. Our nation is seen by our peers as a joke, by our enemies as a fallen adversary to be pitied (or manipulated), by our lessers as a means of them getting ahead. Right now, we are;
