Banks are essentially a credit institution. That's fine. The problem arises when banks become the default system of transactioning money. Your salary goes to a bank account, your bills are paid through debits in your bank account, your money is stored in a bank account... everything requires a bank account, it's no longer optional, and they charge you for letting them keep your money and use it for credit or paying their employees or whatever they want.

The banks aren't responsible for inflation either, it's the government. The politicians want businesses to generate jobs because it makes them look good for the voters. The opposite of inflation would result in less jobs for everyone because businesses would become less profitable and higher unemployment equals means less income tax.
