German tech is overrated
Why in the fuck are people still parroting that myth that German technology was so advanced, while in reality they could not even produce a single aircraft carries, their heavy tanks were unreliable, and were their jet fighters, with their garbage engines?

What did the Germany even contributed to military technology after 1945? Serious question.

The whole meme about supreme German quality in military tech and tactics was more or less Allied cope for their swift defeat in France. And in developed and mapped European battlefields it might have been somewhat true too, but that German technology really started falling apart in undeveloped rural areas of Northern Europe and Russia.

That would be ironic considering by the time of the invasion of France, German military technology wasn't particularly advanced as far as I can tell. They mostly used Panzer IIs during the invasion, and later on during Barbarossa the Germans were shocked by the capabilities of the T-34. Arguably they pulled ahead technologically speaking with the Panther and so on though.

You can say any pice of equipment is reliable and cheap or expensive and time consuming. It depends on the piece of equipment.

Germany started out better because it had been building modern military equipment before the war.
The French equipment was notorious for it's issues.

Midnight Hammer was done with a German wingform. They were way ahead of their time.
>carriers
these are not a sign technological advancement as much as a sign of the ability to marshal vast amounts of labor and resources.
>tanks
ALL tanks at the time were unreliable, German tanks actually had better reliability than Soviet and American tanks, only British tanks were more reliable than German ones by design, the German breakdowns were due primarily to lack of training, the Wehrmacht even looked into this because they lost so many to completely preventable mistakes.
The famous "German gears were too weak on the Tiger" they were stronger than most other tanks of the war but inexperienced drivers were stripping the gears on the drive train while experienced crews could keep their tank rolling for hundreds of km.

its also worth noting tanks like the Abums and T-80s even with experienced crews suffer breakdowns every 50 km which is vastly worse than even the shittiest German tanks in WWII.
>jet fighters
They pioneered jet fighters, their engines were fine. You make it sound as though their jets never flew.

Atlas wasnt the first strategic missile.
The German assault rifle was developed in 1942 but Hitler prevented its production because he believed SMGs and Battle Rifles were better for the Eastern Front.
