When I was in school I got told my ancestors were enslaved and before that they were swinging from trees. Then I learned that my African ancestors created the first civilisations, while in Europe they were still living in caves.

Now I teach in schools and I tell young black men about Ancient Egypt, Kush, Timbuktu, Sudan and the Congo. I educate them about the noble Nubians and how they brought Egypt to new heights. I tell them about the Moors and their integral involvement in the renaissance, how they brought hygiene to Europe. If it wasn't for their ancestors fighting themselves free, slavery would have continued. I teach them about Mansa Musa I of Mali – the 14th century African king who was named the richest person in all history.

I just want you to know that African history did not start with slavery. Slavery interrupted African history.

It didnt start with slavery and africans did have some sophisticated societies and high cultures but ultimately the real cringe comes from black Americans blackifying non black history. The Moors werent black first of all and while intercultural exchange may have pushed some better standards on yurop at the time most of the renaissance came did not come from moors. Also wewuzzing the egyptians is cringe altho white americans do this too. Anyway man why not learn some real African history like the Benin civilization and etc but the reality is that yes africa fell behind but almost everywhere did and that doesnt make them worse. Most of african history was intentionally destroyed, but things could still be studied if african countries werent shitholes and if you ever spoke to a legit black african, they have a virtual non existent interest in their history so its gonna go nowhere for a long time. The plateaus in mozambique are littered with 100s if not 1000s of stone foundations but there isnt a peep of any history to be found on it for example

Your ancestors were enslaved by your ancestors because that is the only people that they could enslave. Anywhere in Africa now it is still impossible even though my relatives are greatly outnumbered.
