The country adopted a libertarian president because it was already shit. He was the chemotherapy necessary to restart the country's economic and prosperity. Prior to him, the country ran on socialist policy and destroy the entire economic sector.

Argentina went broke in the last kirshnerist government, that's why Milei was elected

>massively cuts gov spending, even when unnecessary
>creates recession
>demands falls, causing inflation to fall down
>devalue pesos to make investments worthy

>mfw people don't invest
>mfw people are poor
>mfw the pesos is weak making inflation creep again

Tbf this doesn't have much to do with libertarianism but more so poor economic management. A more interesting outlook is the housing policies that had been put in place by the previous socialist gov. It was considered worldwide a failure, which prompted milei to remove it. Initially, it lowered prices, but now that the prices have caught up, it essentially amounts to same price with no availibility, except this time with a lack of social protections.

Venezuela reached its economic peak under Chavez and its GDP is now where it is pre-Chavez, despite heavy US sanctions. Argentina has no sanctions and is receiving a $40 billion bailout and still sucks.

countries' economies are determined more by sanctions and shocks than ideologies.

>muh sanctions
kek, sanctions have little to do with a thriving economy which is why Trump can do a 100% tariff on China with little real world effect other than capitalists screeching over FUD.

Is this why the chinese are pivoting from an export model to a consumer-base model ? Sure seems like no consequences at all...

I agree with this, but I'm not sure libertarianism is the solution

Yeah, the problem is clearly that they're 90% European, not that the jew in charge is a chabadnik stooge.

They are though. they've focused on switching to high-tech exports to boost a new and educated class but now face the threat of a decline in exports. This is why they wish to boost internal demand to cope for the loss of international exports
