Still hasn't been disproven
>B-but some Italian guy reproduced it!
Nope, certain aspects of it can be replicated, but we still aren't sure exactly how, nobody has been able to replicate every single aspect
>B-but the carbon dating!
Part of a restored piece. We literally have records of the shroud dating to before the range of the carbon dating, not to mention x-ray dating proving it's from the first century
Reminder that if you believe it's a forgery, you need to assume
>The forger somehow knew that in crucifixion, the wrists were nailed instead of the hands, despite all Christian art showing Jesus' hands being nailed
>Used the real blood of someone under insane stress/torture
>Knew what a negative image was
>Used a special technique that was only used on this single art piece and nothing else in history
>Knew what first century Roman coins from judea looked like
>Was able to harness enough energy to power a stadium to apply the image
>Knew enough about crucifixion to position the thumbs in a way that you'd see if your wrists and ulnar nerves were nailed
