Does Catholicism empower women?
I found this map that compares domestic abuse against women in Europe, and I noticed that most of the lower countries (Spain, Ireland, Austria, and Poland) tend to be Catholic (or had a history where Catholicism played an important role). In contrast, the Protestant Northern European countries tend to have higher rates of violence against women (so much for feminist utopias). Keep in mind before you bring up "underreporting" this is from an anonymous survey that consistently asks the same specific questions such as throwing objects and other acts to limit disparity and vagueness.

I also remember how Mary is treated as a very important saint along with other important, powerful female figures (Queen Isabel, St. Brigid, and the like). Also, the same countries I listed tend to have the lowest witch hunt rates during the 17th century, and in Spain, especially, children bear both the surnames of the mother and father, whereas in Anglo society, the father is the sole family name.

there's a reason why feminism arose from protestant countries before catholic countries

my question is, despite their catholic upbringing, why does france and lithuania also have high rates of domestic violence against women?

You need actual studies, mere correlation isn't useful

Women shouldn't be empowered because then I can't have sex

You know immigration policies could be a factor too. Think about it.

That entire chart can be discarded based on how low the number for Russia is.

The more relationships you have the more chances for violence from either sex. Same goes for adding stepchildren into the mix. Conversely, reporting may be a factor as well.

You may as well be like those women in NYC who complain of catcalling and random attacks. Yes it's men. And they're in NYC but, what kind of men?

I do not buy into the idea that Sweden and Denmark, like an actual white person from there has a higher abuse rate than like Ireland or fucking Bulgaria. I simply refuse. And if you do you are retarded.

Ireland has very low divorce rates too. Divorce was only legalised there in 1996 by a referendum with 50.28% of voters voting in favour. It was the first ever jew to be a cabinet member in the Irish government who was behind it too
