The last time humanity was in its natural state was ancient Rome. The good was that which was strong (nobles), the bad was that which was weak (plebs). Slaves were a natural class of society because they were incapable of governing themselves and too weak to do anything about it. Power was simply assumed.

Then the Abrahamic religions were introduced to the world. They were attractive to plebs because it gave them power over their masters. Suddenly what had been deemed as bad was now good, and what had been deemed as good was now evil. It created the concept of equality which, to Romans and all societies before them, was unnatural to the cosmic order. The power between classes flipped. The introduction of these slave religions slowly destroyed the natural state of man. Now man is told pride is a sin. He is shamed for fucking multiple women. He is evil for engaging in revenge. He is evil if he does not turn the other cheek or have mercy on those beneath him. This new "truth" is a haze that rules the masses, and now the priest class are leaders when in Rome they would've been low.

This world today is unnatural. You're not going to allow the system today to control your instincts...are you?

Machismo has never been shunned by Christianity ever and every culture has shunned pride/arrogance based on what they defined it to be. Feudal lords were fucking multiple women all the time and knights would rape peasant women at their liesure. Natural instincts lead to death, vis a vis, living leads to death. A truism to be sure but it doesn't make it any less true, we all live to die, what purpose does it serve to indulge? Indulgence itself becomes a chore, there is an emptiness and a longing in constant indulgence. Denying oneself is a way to approach an understanding of the divine; i.e an understanding of why we are to die. This is why hedonism fails in the face of self denial, because hedonism can only last so long but self denial is eternal in its wisdom.
