America and Russia have the same historic struggle against European Anglo-German imperialist fascism. Why didn't we continue to be allies after 1945 like Roosevelt wanted?

Modern Russia, quite like China (Kissinger 1972) and Japan (Admiral Matthew Perry 1860) was built up by the United States with the clear intention in 1991 of making it into a vassal state but things took a turn for the worst because the vassal understood it could control the master through markets and war.
