This needs an asterisk because while different Chinese factions (KMT, communists, various cliques etc) did pretty awful things to each other and their own people, but as a united front they didn't do too many bad things.

Nice enlightened centrism.This is a false equivalence of epic proportions. One side had industrialized genocide as its core ideological goal and started the war to achieve it. The other side, despite doing fucked up shit, was fighting to stop the world from being enslaved by literal Nazis. The Allies weren't a bunch of boy scouts, but they were objectively the "good guys" in a fight against an existential evil. Trying to "both sides" a war against the Third Reich is pure historical illiteracy.
