Growing up (and learning anything at all), is realizing Vatican II was100% necessary and the good guys won.

Most white Christians today care more about their stock portfolio and soft power than actually following the path of Christ. Vatican II making them seethe is great.

Did Vatican 2 stop the growing irrelevance of the church

Irrelevance in what way? The church as a structure of power going away is the whole point. The church is there to speak against the structures of sin and power, and to walk with the faithful on the path of Christ.

Vatican II by itself was not a problem. The interpretation that some people had of it was.

You have to be living in an alternative universe if you think the era right after Vatican II made people holier. The 1970s and 1980s were a disaster.

Has it been effective in doing so?

And how does Vatican II accomplish this?

It became obvious at vatican 2 that the synagogue of satan was now publicly in control of the catholic leadership, but when did the devil's influencers first secretly gain their control?

They literally replaced the mass of the apostles with protestantized happy-clappy cringe. Gutted the liturgy, threw out sacred tradition for the spirit of Vatican II. Boomer tier church with felt banners and clown masses is what winning looks like? Entire nations apostasized, vocations collapsed, catholic identity destroyed. The only thing that grew was the number of atheists. You call that necessary?

Absolute cuckpost

>Of the six justices who voted to uphold the Mississippi law in Dobbs (Alito, Barrett, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Roberts, and Thomas), all six are Catholic.
>Of the five justices who formed the majority to fully overturn Roe (all of the above minus Roberts), all five are Catholic.

>In fact, at first when Protestant Christians wanted to join an anti-abortion rally they had to join the one sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church or one of its agencies.

>Historians note that in the 1960s, the movement against abortion was almost exclusively Catholic. One estimate suggests that even in the early 1970s, the movement was "probably more than 80 percent Catholic."

Literally everyone I've seen seethe about Vatican II these days is an American, which really says a lot about the whole polemic lmao. If the actual Italians, Spanish, French, etc. aren't seething then Vat.II must've been alright because Americans are all Protestant (including the "Catholic" Americans)

All those justices were appointed by protestants/evangelicals.

>Historians note that in the 1960s, the movement against abortion was almost exclusively Catholic. One estimate suggests that even in the early 1970s, the movement was "probably more than 80 percent Catholic."
And what exactly did they achieve in the '60s and '70s, and why was Roe v. Wade only overturned by protestant-appointed judges decades later kek

You're joking, right? They built the entire national pro-life movement from scratch (National Right to Life Committee, March for Life, etc.). They achieved the Hyde Amendment in 1976. This, which banned federal funding for abortion, was the single most important pro-life victory for 50 years. It was authored by and named after Henry Hyde, a devout Roman Catholic congressman.

The Catholic Church provided the entire theology, infrastructure, and decades of persistence that made the Dobbs victory possible.

If it wasn't due to protestants putting them on the supreme court it would have been for naught. At least you lot have backed off trying to claim it as a Biden victory kek
