growing up is realizing that most fags especially in here only like the idea of drawing and don't want to put in the work(hours-years) it takes to improve/get better.
>>7585374 (OP)it takes growing up to realize what is that obvious?
I have chronic pain in my right leg and every fucking time I start drawing the stupid dogs start barking
>>7585374 (OP)I want its more people liking the idea of drawing, but don't have something they're passionate about that they actually want to draw. At least it was in my case.
>many years ago get a shitty wacom 12ux tablet to draw with>only really play warcraft at the time>drawing is a boring chore I hate and have no fun with because damn I don't like drawing this>give tablet to a friend a year later and drop it>2023>heavily into genshin and fightan games>get a new tablet to learn drawing again because good tablets are cheap as shit now and the tech has improved so much>pumping out drawings of my fav characters every week while laughing and having fun with the stupid things I make of them, and actually making art friends and just doing so much I never would've dreamed of before
>>7585393not my dog, the 6 dogs from my neighbors
>>7585393And if you walk the dog, walk them nice and long. Then you wouldnโt have chronic pain in your leg. A 2 for 1. Many memories shared and you get exercise.
>>7585374 (OP)Between wage slaving, social commitments, cooking for myself and doing some weight lifting to keep in shape i just don't have more than 4-5 hrs per day.
>>7585591โWage slavingโ 40 hours is a side hustle. You got Saturday and Sunday, you draw 16 hours each day. Add the weekday hours and it matches if not exceeds working hours if you use breaks and lunches to draw. No excuses.
>>7585374 (OP)I'm too old to be drawing 5 hours a day guilt free. Young people have no excuse. I've done my grinding and I got the fundies mostly down, I need to draw appealing things and grinding doesn't increase appeal.
>>7585591>wake up>get ready for work>go to work>come home from workHere is where you draw, before you even sit down and start scrolling.
>social commitmentsfuck off
>>7585374 (OP)what do people who sketch for 8 hours even draw? after like an hour i feel like i run out of ideas, or are they just doing a ton of poses they picked out beforehand?
>>7585666they work on a piece or multiple pieces, those take a long time if its well thought out, background, composition, characters, costume, props
>>7585666there are turd polishers that spend 9 hours on one piece, sketches that slowly sketch various things for hours with no goal or plan to finish them, and even chit chatters that just work on one piece aimlessly. Actually drawing completed pieces one after another for 9 hours is nearly impossible, only professionals and begs with no shame can do it.
>>7585666>>7585682Not sure about the guy in the OP but any comic project will easily give you enough shit to work on for 9+ hours a day for weeks. Animation too.
>>7585685I consider that professional
>>7585688You consider anybody drawing a comic of any kind a professional? Really?
>this is one day of practice of a jap
n-nani
>>7585782That's silly. You are silly.
>>7585374 (OP)It's only fun when you're good, it's hard to get to that level.
>>7585392Post your work, pathetic permabeg.
the crazy thing is that this guy works in the industry too, he litreally draws 8+ hours daily
and hes my goat
>>7585787You mean one hour? Silly gaijin will never be able to grasp the superior Nipponese work ethic
>>7586055eo58 usually streams on weekends
he has no socials
>>7585898Conventions talking to artists there, running into cosplayers and chatting since a surprising bunch of them also draw, and of course being social online
>>7585374 (OP)>Some talanted faggot draws 8 hours a week.I drew 14 hours a week but I still didn't get better at drawing. Fuck you.
>>7586068>he has no socialsso he doesn't have the stress of having to stay consistent and relevant with appealing drawings. Anyone can draw 8 hours a day if they can just draw anything knowing nobody's going to see it. Try drawing 8 hours a day and getting thousands of likes on twitter with each drawing. Try drawing 8 hours of viral bangers instead of random sketches.
>>7585666The fella in the OP just draws endless characters, no clue if he's got a reference board or if he just pulls it all out of his head. Sometimes he'll work on a bigger, more fleshed out piece. I guess his secret to not killing himself, apart from autism, is hopping from one thing to another, while he's working on one thing his mind works out what to do with the other pictures.
I guess having a routine helps
>>7585787I can't believe japs draw that much just before the morning shit

>Q: Do you use references?
>A: No, he usually does not, he will show on screen if there are any references used.
Most, maybe, but not all.
There are a few people that learned here that moved on to become successful artists.
There are other people who come here to advertise their art who are already established- and a lot of people who come to genuinely give and get criticism.
Thereโs also a big chunk that just want to draw and share ideas without stress. Thereโs not a lot wrong with that either
>>7587671how many trillions of floating boxes do i need to grind to reach this level??
>>7588061Depends on your talent level / how quickly you realize that's a complete waste of time.
>>7585787for anyone interested here's the source
https://x.com/Ishiuchiagogo/status/1926545958927524308
it's 3 years worth of drawing and he recommends morpho and picrel
>>7588065All this practice and this is what his drawings look like?
>>7588416>>7588065kek another win for just drawfags
>>7585374 (OP)I like drawing, i draw because i enjoy doing it. I dont spend lot of hours per day to drawing because i have lot of other stuff that i have to do or enjoy to do. Drawing is just one of my hobbies that i do for fun. Sure grinding hours and hours every day to practice would make me better faster but it doesnt make it more enjoyable, and that's the main goal in drawing to enjoy it
>>7588416Disingenuous post
Here's a more recent artwork from him
I would say he mogs the fuck out of me and I'm on 5th year
>>7585374 (OP)>draws 8 hours a dayAnd i run out of steam after 2 hours, im gonna make it but not today or the next year.
>>7586704if you watch any of his streams you will see that he draws appealing stuff exclusively
>>7588564gotta just work up to it
I know some people who got up to 5,6 hours a day regularly and they say they just increased it a little week by week to get used to it
growing up is also realizing that even if you get gud it doesn't mean you'll enjoy making art into a career. Even solo artists start to feel like art is a chore. I'm sure some artists grow to resent art.
>>7588065I think I seen TableGuy's stack of papers, its about the same size.
Granted if you just do Gesture you'll go though pages quick as hell too.
>>7588065Also anyone got the pic artbook?
>>7585374 (OP)They don't even like the idea of drawing, they're either losers who think art is easy money, or manchildren still clinging to that one time a middle school teacher told them they had talent.
She was lying.
>>7592018mfw my middle school art teacher said I had talent but I didnt believe her so I skipped class to hang out with friends. But turns out she was right kek.
>>7585598you either live at home or are a neet.
>>7585591>Wage SlavingDownsize so you can get away with less hours
>CookingMeal prep in advance
>Lifting weightsHome gym
>Social commitments If you have a social life you'll never be an artist. Lemme guess, you plan to get married?
>>7585374 (OP)How DOES this guy draw so much
Most of these are 6 hours streams, he takes a break in the middle for dinner
Pdman does similar length streams too
https://www.youtube.com/@user-cm2co1hw2u/streams
How can they draw for so long in one go, sometimes day after day?
>>75953131. because he's asian
2. because he's pro
3. because he enjoys drawing.
honestly 6 hours per day isnt a lot for someone of his skills.
>>7595321When I was just beginning, I spent six hours a day on it because everything took so much time. Once I got better, I could do the same in an hour or less. For some of us, drawing hands and poses is just boring every day, not because we're not good at it, but because it's repetitive. Not everyone feels fulfilled by drawing anime, when was the last time this board did the "draw a fruit on table, a tree outside" challenge.
>>7595313He doesn't have a day job probably
>>7585666For me its usually 40 percent studies, 40 percent stuff for fun and 10 percent stuff i dont really like or am bad at so I can get out of my comfort zone and gain a bigger visual library
>>7585787This is probably about 2 - 3 months of art.
>>7595313>Be a neet or have art as your job>Meal prep>Get household chores out of the way in the morning and keep place clean >Draw things you enjoy >NO VIDEO GAMES/DOOM SCROLLING. Keep your life a little boring so you'll draw all day to not be bored.
>>7595351he does, he works industry
streams are weekend only or on holidays
>>7595313because drawing is fun you retard, you have a ngmi mindset
>>7585787Does anyone recognize the type of construction/mannequin he's using? Does it look similar to any of the resources usually posted here (Hampton, etc.)?
>>7596200its a very standard mannequin
>>7588460>another win for just drawfagswhat the fuck do you think that stack of paper is kid
>>7585374 (OP)Hit my One Year of drawing yesterday. I had more breaks and procrastination than I would've liked, but I managed to get through three Loomis books and fill up 2 1/2 sketchbooks.
Here's my One Year Piece compared with couple of pages I did on literally Day One. Top two are Day one, bottom two are the One Year Piece (left is pencil, right is inked.)
I cant draw 6 hours a day, because that would be at least 4 finished pieces. It takes a lot of mental energy to come up with 4 original pieces a day. And i am not going to spend 6 hours doodling or polishing one drawing.
I got maybe 2 drawings in me each day, and they can take any amount of time. 30min each or 2 hours eact
>>75853911. take pain medication
2. buy headphones
3. stop being a whiny retard
>wake up
>I can't draw now, I gotta make breakfast
>I can't draw now, I have to eat this breakfast, and I have to savor and enjoy it since I worked hard to make it
>I can't draw now, I have to wash up and brush my teeth and everything
>I can't draw now, my brain is still foggy from waking up, I need to be fully awake
>I can't draw now, I have to check all my updates and emails and everything
>I can't draw now, its lunchtime, I can't draw on an empty stomach
>I can't draw now, I have to fap, I just gotta find the perfect vid
>I can't draw now, I'm still searching, if I give up now then all that time was wasted, I have to see it through to the end because I'm not a quitter
>I can't draw now, I'm dizzy from gooning, I need to mentally recharge
>I can't draw now, I just barely woke up and did anything, everything before now was just my dailies, now I can finally have fun
>I can't draw now, its dinnertime, I have to eat I can't just draw while hungry
>I can't draw now, I need to research this doom topic, this is very important
>I can't draw now, its night. Its too late to start drawing, I'll draw tomorrow.
>>7585374 (OP)This is the reason why starting drawing early is so important. It has nothing with that imaginary neuroplasticity meme. It's all about time.
>>7605797Not to mention you most likely have more free time as a student.
