wrote a short story to go with this, it doesnt really fit the theme of what im going for. but fuck it.

i know this is a shot in the dark but i think there was an image posted on /ic/ of a comic that depicts a kemono "dragon" and the text describes that they are employed as body guards because they're resistant to fire and bullets but because they're so huge they have to be searched for explosives and wiretaps. there's a panel with a jet plane, one with agent using a flashlight on its mouth, and another one where an agent is digging between the breasts of the dragon.
anyway, what i'm mainly interested in is the dragon had an outfit where a bow tie is on the middle of the right thigh.

After having done basicly nothing else for more than two years straight since leaving school, besides work, than sitting at home playing vidya and drawing furry smut, it's safe to say that I seriously need to pull myself by the boot straps and aquire an irl-waifu in order to not end up a permavirgin. The only genuine passion of mine that could be used for bonding with someone would be art, but I'm not sure how to seek out someone like that specifically. The small social circle I had in school I lost entirely, and I hate going out, so I never found a new one. Basicly it's just me, so dating apps is probably the only solution.

Like, when using tinder do I just put an UWU as a dogwhistle or something while also showing off some artwork unrelated to your usual stuff, that wouldn't scare off normal people?

I don't live in a big town or anything, so no big conventions or art atelliers for life drawing sessions either.
This has been bugging me for the past days to the point of drawing now feeling exactly like playing videogames, in the sense that it just feels like I'm distracting myself from the important stuff.

Same here man. Known both friends and family that have had success on dating apps in my local area recently and contemplating giving it a shot. Still, furry art is kinda important to me and am not totally sure how I would go about that.

I think stating that you like to draw and does it as a hobby in your bio is a good start. If you get a match and they question you about it you can just show then some of your drawings (can be furry, but no smut. You don't want to give off the horny gooner vibe) and see what here reactiont to that is. You can always try too match with girls you think would be more accpetiong to furry porn, though I am not sure how you would know that. You can always see if you can find some art community for your contry/local are on discord (there are probaly some minors there and it is not primaly a dating platform, so be careful). But its going to be hard to find someone anyway, as most people who are into furry stuff are not usually too public about it.

From my experience, the politicaly invested girls with colored hair girls tend be some of the most vocal anti-furry people I have meet i person. Some of them might be furry, but most of them tend too just abhor anything that is highly idealized stuff (which furry tends to be). Same reason they hate anime. Most furries aren't that political and most of the reason it might feel that way is that some of the top admins on the biggest site are and the over abundance of gays in the furry community. Just have an open mind and try to talk to some different girls, and if they end up beaing the deranged political type then you ditch them.

try looking at an actual borzoi's head. They don't have much of a so-called 'stop' between the muzzle and the forehead areas and they have so-called rose-ears, which are actually quite tiny for a dog that big. Also the snout you drew becomes bigger and rounder at the end, as opposed to an actual borzoi's which is kind of wedge-shaped and tapers. If you try to apply those things to your stylization you will get a head that's much more characteristic and borzoi-like as opposed to the weird floppy noodles you have right now.

Stopped drawing for a couple of months due to lack of motivation and energy but after i got this laptop with stylus support im sorta interested again. Pen and paper is sorta punishing. Dragon doodle at work

So here’s an idea that may be fun to crowd source a bit. I’ve been kicking around this idea in my head for a comic. It’d follow the lives of four-piece extreme metal band(think grindcore/goregrind) as they tour underground venues, but find themselves entangled with various criminal elements who intersect with their scene and all the drama/chaos that’d entail.
I’ve been trying to figure out what base species each member should be based on their roles. Think vocalist, guitarist/backing vocals, bassist, and drummer. The only one that seems to fit perfectly in my head would be a hog or boar of some variety as their “lead”, but others are escaping me. I’d be curious to hear other ideas.

Thanks anon. I do have a few artists that I’ve looked up to the past decade or so. My biggest influence when I started taking art seriously was Chris Sanders. Not so much for his pinup work, but I really like his gesture work. There’s a lot of raw energy that is captured in his sketches that used to inspire me. Another artist I really like is Alessandro Barbucci. He’s got a great mix of anime meets Disney that probably influenced me the most. One more artist I really like is Daniel Warren Johnson. His inks are fantastic, and the way he draws actions scenes are awesome. (Pic related) I don’t care much for his commercial comics like transformers, but his original work is very good. Highly recommend Extremity and his webcomic Space Mullet.

Sketching up an Otter gal for a client. How’s this looking?

A lot of times, anthropomorphic creatures are a bit difficult or easier to draw due to unrestricted anatomy, nor complex internal/external design. I personally love drawing gore or anatomically based drawings to use with them freely.
However furry artist have extremely sexualized artwork objectively more often than not, so I tend to reject such notions in my own drawings.

I'm a casual furry art enjoyer. Been doing studies of taran fiddler's stuff because I think his anatomy is fantastic despite being 99% roided-out gay shit.

Sometimes I feel I can draw anything, but only if it's copying. I can't seem to have that same confidence when drawing from imagination or combining references to make something original. How do I build my imagination muscle?

Now dare to compare to a reliable source for that subject. What details did you get right? Wrong? What'd you forget about entirely?

Make a new drawing that zooms in ONLY on details you got wrong or forgot about, that's the stuff you should be studying.

Wake up the next morning and redraw the same subject with no reference.

Simple as that. Repeat that process until you get it down. I kept getting confused about horse legs until I finally dedicated a few days to it, which allowed me to draw all those horse athletes seen above. Repetition's a big part of learning, think about how many times little kids read their favorite picture books. Drives you up the fucking wall, sure, but they got the right idea. When people get older they think they only need to hear or see something once and they get it, but then you see how college students are with their books and courses - in on ear, out the other. As soon as that semester's over, they're not gonna remember hardly anything. Treat yourself like you're 5 - repetition and mileage are key.

It looks good, but I think your shading needs work, because it doesn't give the impression of volume that you're going for. The uppermost highlight on the tail makes it look flat, like she's got a beaver tail going on there, and her boobs look pancaked up against her body. I also think the mouth is at a different angle to the viewer than the rest of her face. On the sketch, her mouth is more easily read as facing left, and there is a tiny indent in the lineart that makes it look like she's got less of a chin and more of a protruding lower lip, which I thought was very cute.

Not really. My wife doesn’t care for the fandom. And she thinks furries are gross. But she doesn’t mind watching movies/shows with anthros.

We both eased into it. I started drawing more and more furries and began to gain more traction on my socials because of it. Then I began to get more clients/commissions out of it. she understands that it’s just a money thing. And I’m not fully committed to the fan base. I won’t go out to buy a fursuit, or attend a furcon, but I have a sona/avatar and draw furries because they’re fun to draw and think they’re cute.

You're absolutely right. I probably I fiddled with the pose and forgot to properly adjust the head and body afterwards, focusing on other areas.
I'll have to remember to fix that in another software because the one I'm drawing on doesn't have a selection tool.
