99% of /ic/ can't draw a floating loomis head, so they cope by insisting rendering is totally easy anyway but also gay so they won't do it although they definitely could if they tried, which they won't because it's beneath them

It's a digital drawing. Just turd-polish it for days until you have the result you want. Abuse texture brushes. Color sliders. Liquify. Layer modes.
I'd be impressed by it if it was painted on a real canvas. This is just a waste of time.

the technique of course, the brush strokes and the layering.
some artists can do a fairly good render with minimum brush strokes, while others rely on boring grids, the later technique is effective but very stale, it's no different than painting pixel by pixel.

Hyperrrealism always seemed too boring and tedious to me. It's cool that some artists paint like this, but it's not my goal to do this. I always just wanted to draw manga and do some nice simple illustrations. Not spend hours on every pixel of the image.
