Are other artists gonna tear me to shreds if I start using AI to enhance and smooth out my sketches? Anybody here using img2img and loras in their workflow? How's it going?

I think you already know the answer dawg

instead of doing that, draw at a larger size than usual (zoom out) and then when you're done drawing, shrink it back to the size you used to draw at.

I actually tend to draw on a small patch of actual canvas, I don't know why

You shouldn't at this point in time. I can see a future, when we're more at peace with AI existing, and certain AI companies may have had their day of reckoning in court, where we also have 'AI' programs that do the inking for sketches, to help increase productivity for comics and animation.
It'll probably fine by then, but now? AI is too toxic of a topic to touch.
Those that hate it, vehemently hate it.
Those that love it, would literally suck Sam Altman's embarrassingly small cock right now if they could.

Any other artists that would notice you using AI are using AI themselves too so they're not going to rat other people out for doing so (unless they're stupid or emotionally unstable). Anyone that calls you out you can just ignore because really they'll do the exact same thing the moment it's no longer frowned upon to do so.

I started noticing some of my peers are also getting AI assistance. You can tell from the shading and shape language and if its sudden shift from what they're usually doing. I don't mind it at all desu. I feel like this is how AI is going to be incorporated for future artists. Biggest tell is simply if you zoom out and see thumbnail. Does it gives off AI vibe? It's probably AI assisted. Now your next goal is to figure out how to differentiate your work and make it NOT look like AI.

This is so retarded, I'm not even generating anything, just fixing mistakes and producing original content in my style. Is there still a huge mob ready to tear anyone witg even a drop of AI in their content to shreds?

It's digital, cheat as much as you want since everyone else is in order to make a buck. If you don't you're basically a sucker at this point
Anonymous No.7606498 >>7606505
You are only cheating yourself.

Well some artist coexist with the usage of AI on their own work, Hyung Tae Kim is an example, he uses LORA trained on his work.

You either love him or hate him, I think he started training it sometime between Stellar Blade's development and Nikke.
Here's his work during his time with NCSoft and Blade and Soul, though I think Destiny Child would've been a better choice.

>Also this looks lowkey sloppy, my shit is much more subtile
He only makes a few changes/edits to the AI work, despite his denial with Nikke using AI, it's obvious, and these days he's more open to his use of it.

Since I'm going the opposite direction and AI edit only tedious or messed up areas, I should be safe from anti AI crowd?

Nope! You're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Some of HTK's fans now call his work soulless (and ngl imo his "work" does lack soul now since he started using it) others understand that AI is a necessary "evil"
At the end of the day it's up to you whether to start training AI on your work and using it alongside your workflow.

(nta) No but if you really use it in such a subtle way and to mostly just save time and not above your own observation level where you can't recognize if the AI is creating artifacts and slop then you should be golden by just not outing yourself, no?

Even trying to be subtle, people will still find something that you missed. (Picrel with ShiftUp's AI assisted art for the new game)

Then again that was still a thing before AI got big.

So you say, but whenever I've seen anyone do img2img with their sketches, the stupid brain dead AI changes things that make it no longer your drawing - crucial things like the eyes and such. Honestly if there were an inking AI, that did purely that in a reliable and non destructive way, I don't think artists would be too opposed.

>Is there still a huge mob ready to tear anyone witg even a drop of AI in their content to shreds?
The fact that you're asking, and that this thread was started, is evidence enough that there is. Public sentiment is completely split, and both sides are obnoxious.
You've got dickheads who froth at the mouth at a whiff of AI, and you got dickheads who ask grok to edit every piece of art that can.

I can't even really spot the mistake here, maybe the thumb and little wonky forms? And yes people will be able to see AI use from even pixel level things if you use it in the final but there's many steps in between where you can use it. If I wanted to get away with AI use I'd just have two rules:
1. Not to rely on it for anything structural. So if I want to generate a sword for ex. I gen it and then go through the forms manually to see that it makes sense.
2. Not to use it in the final in any way.
And for the perfect crime you'd need to keep it tuned to near your level of understanding. Any hiding method is useless for begs, they'll get caught no matter what

If they're going to use AI, they could at least make the image not unpleasant to look at. There's something about the was that the pink haired girl's body, cape and sword are interacting that is really frustrating to look at.
I've noticed that AI is a mess with... would you call them tangent lines? Anyway, these weird, oddly clinical and repetitive sections that are hard to look at.

There are people (who aren't artist) who says copy pasting heads/faces from my own previous artwork as "lol that's no different than AI!" so just so you know there are a not that many schizos, but they are very loud and insist on being mad.

I've been using AI for backgrounds because it turns out the way I paint backgrounds works really well when I use AI gen'd backdrop but posterize them first to reduce their details and start adding back my own details. Also been using AI for hands and faceless mobs because I'm not spending my brain juice for those.

There's no way blud has any type of following cooking up if he struggles with hands or drawing a 5 minute figure for a mob
Anonymous No.7606630 >>7606634
I wonder how many people already do this. It seems smart to use ai to improve your drawings instead of just posting ai as-is or trying to trace it.

I'm blud and struggle like hell with hands too and I have plenty of following because nowadays style and originality are more valued than pure skill. AI inflation, sorry
>>7606630
It's weird how I only find people tracing ai or using it as references, so backwards baka

my guess is its too depressing. working hard on something only for ai to completely rework it can't be good for your mental health. Just look at shadiversity and how he treats ai after running his soulful sketches through them.
