Overall, traditional graphite pens feel good.
From imagination, is it acceptable? Need more curved contours at the end of the shapes for volume

Posted before, but seemed like it was shitposting hours, so didn't get any feedback. How is this? What could I improve?
>>7606773they make your lines more stable, I promise. I wish I had an answer for you about how to make your hand stop shaking, but it really depends on what your specific problem. Can be from a few things. Mine is neurological but a lot of people get it from low blood sugar so make sure you eat breakfast before you draw and see if that helps it all. Another option is an adrenal problem or thyroid problem or a vitamin deficiency. Grips help a lot with line stability even if they don't correct your hands shaking themselves because your hand has something better to grip on to. If you really want your hands to shake less, hold something weighted. As an example, if I'm holding something with weight, my hands don't really shake as much, so you can try waiting your down a little bit somehow
I can't say that it'll work because it really depends on why your hands are shaking because some people have tremors that are worse when resting. Mine is worse with intention
But the grips really help me and they are definitely worth a shot because they're super cheap and help you have more stability
>>7606768I played online fps games, that fixed two decades of hand shaking.
Been working on this for the past week. Some things are not finished yet, like the fan, or the edges of the dragons or the armrests, but still. How is it? I should probably make the shadow under her leg darker too.

>>7606798also physical therapy if you can! You'd be shocked, or occupational is good for hand stuff. I did lots of it for my lower body, not my hands, and it made a big help for injury/damage related quality of life. If you have the financial option, seek out occupational help. I heard they have methods for helping with fine motor and dexterity by teaching you other tasks - let's say someone wants to get back into knitting and crochet and doesn't have fine motor for it, so they start with weaving and build up - if you can, it's definitely worth inquiring! >>7606815It's the best one yet.
Aiza anon please don't look!
>>7606817You don't even realize often how much these things affect you because if it's affecting your hands in drawing, it's probably affecting you in lots of ways you don't even notice that adds to your daily frustration. It's really helpful to just get it understood even if you don't feel like it's enough or you don't deserve the help because you aren't injured enough, you really don't know how much better it can be. As an example, I'd love to seek it out because one of the things that I struggle with is things like unloading the dishwasher because I have poor fine motor so picking up silverware is really hard. Or opening and tearing bags or chopping food so I have to get everything pre-chopped. Learning accessibility mechanisms is one of the best parts of physical therapy and occupational help, And I can't recommend it enough. Is there a way to make guidelines feel less in the way? They're always overlapping critical parts of the drawing, and I feel like I can't draw in said critical parts because the guidelines are almost perfectly (or at least enough to prevent me from seeing what I'm doing) overlapping with the non-guide lines.

Finally get rid of the hint of her thumb on the hand holding the fan, it's not visible in that pose and it'll make the hand look more natural. That said, nice rendering on the clothing and body, and props for doing not just a background, but an interesting background.

âlegs are too big (mb im too loli pilled), top one doesn't properly rest on the other and her ass is floating
âeither make the dragons and stuff in perspective or make it front on like i did
âthe shadows are a bit muddy for clean anime style. also with folds it's good to be conservative and keep the forms clean
âkind of again about the bg, try to make it serve the composition. here i did so by framing the character with light and making things nice and symmetric and also notice the leading lines into the character
âmade the head bigger
âadded the foot as it looks awkward cut off and added some breathing room up top
i'd probs also make the floor kinda glossy/light to have a nice rhythm of light/dark/light, maybe have the light peek from under the chair

>>7607673Is the redraw in the room with us?
You mean you drew the same character in a different pose? Because these two pictures look nothing alike.
As far as progress, little has changed, and I am assuming left is old and new is right. So the colors on the right one look slightly better.
The quality however changes throughout the picture, there's jagged lines all over and clean lines, there's part left white and not filled in, the anatomy has not improved, dare I say regressed even if I can only judge by these two pictures,
>>7607673sorry man, the left one has a lot more appeal than the right one. I agree with

>>7607695While the one on the right looks worse, it's also a more complex pose and lighting. I'd say your ability to execute a drawing is about the same but your ideas have improved, probably from the master studies. Those aren't bad for you, keep them up, but also do some photo/real life studies.

>>7607671Seethe and cope
>>7607708I recommend trying to understand how to study, how to learn, how to absorb information. Not just in drawing, in everything. Age plays a role for me, when I was 21 I couldn't care less, even if I really wanted something, to learn something, it just didn't stick. Now I'm old and shriveled up but absorb information (and convert it to skill) much more easily. Ignore crabs who don't post their work and have nothing of value to say from here on out. I agree heavily with

>>7607673Honestly I really like the new colors. I also like the pose, I feel like the thing skewing the whole picture is the face placement. Im not very used to drawing bgs, so looking at this I feel I don't think about the composition enough. Idk if I'll be able to add all of that considering how the piece is almost done, but I'll try to meet it in the middle between that correction and current version. I drew the head + torso in line with the perspective of how I drew the legs, but if you were aiming for the perspective of the other leg then it was mostly fine, I would just make the neck thinner and lower where the breasts connect just a tad.
Is a turnip pen ok to use for lineart? I'm losing my mind over whats actually good or not. I was told picrel was a good brush for lineart but now I'm told it looks shit

Another thing, I don't want anything, without talent it's pointless, no matter how much I think about it, no matter how much I try, nothing will happen, everything is always garbage, I can't even finish anything, everything is always wrong, I still break it down into forms, draw immediately like a sketch with light anatomy, everything is the same, nothing will bring, no progress in this fucking drawing
>>7608101And WIP. Planning to give them both watercolors
>>7608069you should do your redlines cleaner and more carefully. I can tell you have skill, but your correction is not that helpful
just do art to process your emotions bro you'll feel better bro for real for real then u won't need to cut anymore fucking retard niggers
I hate the OP pic for this thread so much it's unreal

>>7608003>>7608030I wasn't aware that it was supposed to be a doll.
>>7608101Going to watercolor the backdrop to be a night sky with a shooting star or something up and the surrounding be a pine forest only seen in shadow
>>7608192what watercolors are you using?
how many draft sketches/thumbnails do you go through beforehand if any?
>>7608194Artecho. Seems fine. Coverage is decent enough.
I don't often pre sketch or do layouts. A pic like this is one go with a pencil and one go with a pen for lines and I'm off
>>7608059Before you can draw your anime waifu, you must first draw 10000 fat ugly bastards. It's the only way.
I seriously have no idea what I'm doing with this. Am I doing this correctly? I'm trying go learn fundamentals and Loomis.
>>7608228you are the most effortful troller / spammer /ic/'s ever had
>>7608230>not even 500 replieshuh?
>>7608230nigga we're on page 5
>>7607861>>7608069hope this is a bit better
Am I doing the ball and plane method correctly?
>>7608247you're on the write track but your perspective is all wrong, get on that cube grind
>>7608251Grinding out cubes is boring as fuck and I can't make myself do it. At the same time, free hand drawing doesn't work for me either.
So I don't know what to do.
>>7608252Just trace some art until you get a feel for the human skull. If you want you can start off by drawing the circle and the midline and side planes on top of the drawing, then seeing how it ends up looking, compare to your previous attempts see the issues, and repeat a bunch more times
>one of my first digital drawings.
There Is a link for the the other i have Made for criticism.
https://imgur.com/a/Jh2rcmv
>>7608253Here's a cube I just did. Also, what's the best method for tracing without having the ability to literally put a piece of paper on screen and trace over it? Just copy from the image while looking at it side by side?
>>7608263That's more so copying the drawing, it is also a nice exercise to make at first. If you have a phone you can put the paper over the phone i guess, otherwise i'm digital so not much advice i can give unless you have a printer
>>7608265I have a printer but my computer isn't hooked up to it. It's one of my parents. I also have a drawing tablet.
>>7608268Then you have options to choose on how to trace, i would recommend you do the tracing and drawing planes exercise instead of the boxes at first, only focus on the boxes to do more controlled lines otherwise you'll end up like one more 'fun' schizo
>>7608265Is it okay to copy or better to trace?
>>7608272trace then try to copy
>>7608271I mean, I don't have paper thin enough to actually see the screen through it. All I have is my sketchbook. I don't think a normal piece of printer paper will do it either.
>>7608272Either one is fine, one trains your mind to get used to the planes of the face, the other one trains your eyes and ability to discern spaces. Just do whichever one you think is fun at the moment as both are good pre-beg exercises. Just draw in other words
>>7608274I'm fairly sure a standard piece of paper is see through against a screen moderately bright. At least see-through enough where you can copy contours and such. Otherwise i can't solve your physical problems, figure it out as only you know what you have and don't have, get creative iwth it
>>7608263just put the reference image in the 4th dimension via the w-axis
>>7608263i know it's boring but get something cube shaped irl and just keep drawing it from different angles until you can draw a good cube, put a lot of focus on accuracy. Mastery of the cube means you understand drawing 3d in a 2d space, everything else will become so much easier once you can do this.
I bought some conte crayons. They seem pretty challenging to use, especially for very fine details. Very unforgiving as well. I think I need to just sharpen/shape them better but not sure.
>>7608276I'm talking about against another piece of paper. I can't do it upright while it's against my screen. My phone isn't big enough either.

I don't even know what im doing anymore. how the fuck do i improve everything i do is a flip of the coin
Trying to copy a character's head. Dont know what I'm doing.
It always baffles me why they decided to abbreviate "clip studio points" the way they did
i get such clear visions of what i want my art to look like sometimes
they are fleeting but i can really see it
All my life I've wanted to write, make stories, and draw comics, but the motivation to actually go through with it has never really been there for me. I've never completed a multichapter in my entire life and I've never been able to draw a single comic let alone draw much of anything for my whole life. I want to be an artist and do something, but I can't ever seem to make anything.
What should I do? The idea of trying to learn all of it looks too daunting for me.
>>7608294I see them too, but as animations. It feels bad knowing you have a cool idea you can't even execute in at least another 3 years
>>7608244Hmm, thanks for the redline

>>7608344thumbnail made me notice some really glaring mistakes lol. still doesn't look like ref exactly but kinda ok
>>7608401can you share what resource you used when trying to learn how to paint? i want to get into painting
>>7607861I FORGOR A FINGER, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>7608412well all you see happening here is observation essentially since i don't really know the planes of the face but what i've done to get to this point is to just watch some Marco Bucci's videos and copy stuff the best i can. it's my second color portrait and like 3rd painting portrait ever so can't really be teaching anything xd. except one thing and that is that you just need to start (just draw xd). every good artist has an unbelievable amount of mileage behind them, art is something where there is pretty little you need to know but insane amount of practice to internalize it all. that's to say that there is no resource you need, just observe and come up with formulas that work for you. that's what how i view things right now anyway
>>7607673i dont understand you, this face obviously looks bad, like you can see it, why did you went ahead with the colors and everything when you could see the face sucked
>>7608558Because I spent fucking hours flipping the canvas and trying to fix it, practically going cross eyed. I don't have anyone to give me a second opinion irl so I thought it looked OK, not great, but ok
Anything better than painting while you have some anime girl lick your ears. Fantastic!

But irl if a girl does shit like that its so nice
>>7607898Yes, I tried to focus more in the technical aspect of drawing the folds. Thanks tho !
I did another one
>>7609081The rendering is great again, I would recommend more contrast though, your shadows are lighter than the ref and your highlights are a lot darker. If you improve that it'll look better I think!
