I like Fossils color palette a lot but the underdeveloped part of my brain went crystals because shiny objects. As for what i actually think about the concept fossils make me think more about history/knowledge whereas crystals lean more toward fashion and colors. Basically it's an event that happens during the July of every year where two teams will draw each other's characters to win points, you can also draw ocs from people in your own team (Friendly fire) albeit you'll win fewer points doing that. You're not actually forced to draw other people's characters; there are some who joined just to get their ocs drawn though I've never done this since it felt counterproductive. At the end of the event whichever team got the most points wins. Last year theme was Seafoam vs Stardust (with Stardust as the winner). No need to worry about skill level either since anybody can join

Well guys it seems like I picked a pretty shitty time to find out that Artfight is a place that exists (I found out about it through a friend) because I've literally just started trying to draw and definitely won't be able to make anything worthwhile. I have a drawing or two of my OC but since I literally cannot draw, well, I wouldn't feel "guilty" about not being able to revenge but I would feel like I'd make myself look bad. Even for others, even if the attack is actually well drawn it always feels like people just scramble to come up with something they like and then put it in all caps. Yeah basically i think thats it. Digital art is consumed like slop generally so the most someone will spend looking at a drawing is a few seconds. Social media art heads just can’t appreciate art because its not taught to them in any particular way, and the distribution channels dont encourage slow and analytical consumption

Yes, but I will need to make something better first. I'd want to have at least 20 finished printable artworks and then a collection of niche stickers.
And I don't think people being disinterested would wear me down that much since I went to a con recently myself, and I know the feel of just walking up to somewhere and deciding not to buy something. It's usually not because the art is bad, for me it's more often just walking there because the flow of people guided me that way, or making a mental note to come back later. More rarely the prices are just too high, but I would probably not be very demanding on that part.

I only bother attacking people who post accounts here (this is the only art community I participate in).
I imagine there are other people who attack randoms but they're probably looking for characters they resonate with or people who they want to revenge them back. The searching interface is dogshit so I imagine the "attacks randoms" group is significantly smaller than "attacks acquaintances" group.

On principle I like the fact that someone liked my OC enough to take time out of their day to draw for me even if their artwork is objectively awful. In practice, however, it just looks cringy. Having an unflattering representation of my OC out for everyone to see feels embarrassing, and I'd also feel embarrass to hand an unflattering representation of someone's OC to them.
