It's quite obvious to me the 2 reasons he's bad at art:
1. People only believe what you believe. If you believe your art is good, they'll reflect that If you believe your art is shitty, they'll reflect that and ignore or ridicule you.
2. If you constantly hate yourself. It kills improvement. Instead of using brain real estate to study and observe, you are using it to hit yourself. Stress (self hate) releases cortisol and kills your neurons, making you lose the very things that will make you - not only get better at art - but also happy and get out of whatever mess you're in. Enjoyment and self-praise will pump out dopamine and BDNF which will encourage lustrous growth of neurons and make making gains easier.
Haven't you noticed all the big name YouTubers and other successful people "believed in themselves before anyone else did" and Dream (before he was canceled) said his strategy was to fake having extreme confidence until he made it.

You CANNOT kill yourself before you get good at art, that much is fact. Once you are a good artist, you can kill yourself. Otherwise, you WILL be reborn as yourself.
