Almost every major town or city has life drawing sessions with a model. They usually charge a small fee but it is also a good plave to meet other artists.

The majority of the great artists throughout history have been fairly average people outside of their work, or even full blown socialites - such as Jean Honore Fragonard.
Fuck, even the artist you've cherry picked, Van Gogh, still had friends, lovers, family; you point to his mental illness and say that's evidence for him being an anti-social loser, or that's how how all artists are, well I'll point to almost any other artists and say that's how they actually usually are.
Even the quirkier artists out there tended to have a good amount of friends.
