Ever found some really good porn of your fave as a kid and felt the unbridled joy of 1000 suns then coomed to it incessantly? That's one of the reasons why I do it.

I mean, art is one of the bigger factors of what drives culture, culture shapes the society in which you live. When you create art, you have the potential to create something that can literally change the social fabric if it speaks to enough people. It's why memes became so huge and have the ability to influence how people feel in society, they use art as a vehicle for observational humor. Even if an artist may not be commercially successful, their art can be extremely influential. Some random swede creates the original basedjak in 2017, and this gave birth to the framework for a ton of chud memes which were unironically used and still being used, to reshape the overton window/cultural landscape. Maybe the biggest takeaway here is, your art doesn't need to be some masterful execution of fundamentals and skills, if anything that makes it far too rigid to proliferate and influence people. To create truly influential art in the modern age, simplicity must be the framework for messages that people relate to. It's not about how well we as artists can create something, but about how well we can create something people can relate to.

I know that feel.

After starting to draw myself too, I contacted my fav artist, thanked for all the joy they brought to me and told them they inspired me to start drawing too. They replied and encouraged me to keep it up and said we on the same side now. Felt and still feels good.

art shapes culture. basically any form of art is in some way propaganda for either the artist's or the commissioner's views. heck, even porn is an advertisement of the "ideal" partner, which shapes culture by subconsciously changing viewer preferences.

you don't have to use art to change society, but to say that art is only useful for pretty thing to look at is highly reductive.

art has many benefits.

Art offers many benefits beyond self-satisfaction. Here are some key ones:
1. Communication and Expression

Art communicates ideas, emotions, and experiences that may be hard to articulate with words. It can give voice to underrepresented people, challenge dominant narratives, or express complex internal states in a universally accessible way.

2. Cultural Preservation

Art preserves and reflects cultural identity. It documents history, traditions, values, and perspectives of different times and communities, often more vividly and emotionally than written records.

3. Social and Political Impact

Art can inspire change by raising awareness, critiquing injustice, or mobilizing movements. Political cartoons, protest music, and public installations often speak to collective struggles and hopes.

I posted a drawing yesterday on IG and only got 1 like and 7 views from "followers". I think I'm blacklisted or something. Is it over for IG? What's a better alternative? I feel this is simply the way for the average artist.

I post to DeviantArt, Pixiv, Twitter, Instagram, NewGrounds and Tumblr and that's also the order from most active to least active. Different people use different sites, so your best bet is to post to multiple sites. Consider also making yourself e-Hentai gallery because lot of viewers prefer the site because it doesn't require making an account.
