Why can't I draw this pose? I changed the arm because I wanted it to be in a different position, but I want to keep the rest of the pose the same but I keep failing to get the right angle on some parts. I think the shirt is hiding a lot of important anatomy and it's hard to figure out where things go underneath it. I've spent too long on this and it's giving me a headache

I've done what I can for this thread in trying to break down how I do it. That doesn't not mean how it should be or you should it's just suggestion so feel free to vary from this.

1) I start out by trying to block in shapes on a bit of perspective. I need to know where the hell shapes are going or we're lost.

2) I block in what I know of the body (from practicing and being a lazy f) blocking in shapes from the shapes i've laid down. This is on another layer.

3) Continue blocking in shapes making sure i'm getting at least a vague suggestion of what this is supposed to be.

4) Try to clean things up a bit add clothing etc

5) Continue adding detail until you lose you f'ing mind or you decide to rush to finish it up. That comes down to patience.

Hope this helps. Best of luck! My best advice is to learn shapes and perspective as it will help you tremendously as it has me.

its insane how drawing a person is like the hardest thing on earth. Its easier to fight and kill a wolf than it is to draw one perfectly. There's nothing intuitive, you just have to figure out construction, figure out posting, and figure out proportions all independently of each other AND then somehow translate it into wrist movements so you can create lines that hallucinate into a shape. Every time I draw a body its like doing complex math problems and I 'm spending so much brainpower to construct it. It never gets easier.

If you practice fundamentals long enough they become second nature and you stop thinking about them in this systematic manner.
It's called internalizing stuff.
It's like when you first learn to ride a bike. You first think about each thing separately, how to keep your balance, how to pedal without losing it, when to brake, how to use your body and center of gravity to steer, etc etc.
It's the same as with any other skill we aren't proficient with at first.

This is more advanced anatomy than it looks. Definitely tricky since her body shift 4 times (head, torso, left leg, right leg each face a different direction). Most of your problems came from her shoulders and the head. Her left leg could use to be more of a straight profile for the sake of dynamism but yours is more faithfull to the photo.
