>>7644070 (OP)If you arent already drawing smut, then the answer is no. That isnt to say that you arent allowed to be a sick fuck, but if that isnt your instinct then you shouldnt fight it, just try to grow an audience with what you are already want to draw.
Like pic related is years old in terms of my work but it represents what I currently do so I'll use it as an example. Like I've been doing life drawing studies for years, Ive seen and drawn more naked men and women then one would need if they wanted to learn to draw smut but my instinct is to do shit like pic related. I attempted to do smut just to see what I can produce but I can barely muster up the energy to do pin ups(which you start off with drawing your subjects naked anyway if you do your fundies, hardly pushing smut limits). I prefer drawing cute cartoony shit, in spite of constantly observing naked people and my ever growing fap folder, its my main motivator for my art and the reason why I continue want to do better.
I dont know what your preferred subject matter is, but if its smut go for it. If not why not try to build an audience with what you do already? Its ""harder"" but not that much harder(plus in this online age its a lot of luck anyway just to please the algo) Like I remember discovering this short https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yR_vbRe3Skw from this nobody who hadnt had that much of a following until he started making stuff with this character and this world, and lo and behold it gained traction, not like a billion views worth but a couple hundreds of people is not fucking nothing, I'd kill for that. While everyone will always want porn people want to experience different things(plus those gooners cant goon all the time, they gotta break it up with somethin), if you know you can provide something, do it.
