How do I get whatever that is to shut up? I objectively know I don’t have the skills to draw well but my brain can’t stand making something that looks shit even for fun. I just wanted to draw /co/ characters and I’m angry at myself for fucking up the hallway they’re in and I don’t know why I can’t just draw bad and get over drawing bad, it feels shameful to be this old and be bad at drawing even if it makes sense from not practicing.

Nowhere. I was just looking at some rohitsuka sketches like this one until I decided to test drawing the ellipses directly. It turned out just as >>7649643 said.
The thing is that I suck at drawing eyes in 3D, specially when the skull ball is doing first. So I start with the face and once I'm satisfied on the positioning of eyes I define the volume of skull with these parallel ellipses.

Switched to a more orange/yellow background to not strain my eye as much as the blue one did.
I started working on a drawing i want to finish but at this point its basically just concept(on bottom right).
I realized (outside of a host of things) that i'll need to look up how clothes work to make good cloaks (copied hampton and tried to do a few 5 min figures with clothes with the focus on clothes). I can appreciate that. sometimes you have to double and triple check. one poor measurement can multiply into large errors. for what it's worth, something else you can perhaps try is, again, making more concerted efforts while taking your time, but with a *portion* of a figure, as opposed to the full thing. obviously you'll want to do the full thing as well, but you can get good practice by reducing the complexity of your subject, say just the legs for one go, then in another accuracy/construction study the upper body.

The way you compose with light and shit is very classical in a way and it looks very nice how it brings attention to the subjects. Look up how classical painters draw shadows especially how to make them more rich and deeper. And also you can make some background and "side"ground things shaded in the same way. But when you learn that deeper shadows will often hide some lack of knowledge of anatomy in some places so don't use it as a crutch and keep up with your anatomy studies and when sketching sketch those details even if they are going to be hidden by the shadows.

some markers have replaceable ink, dipping in alcohol also works for it. I'm coloring with alcohol markers rn and can show dry ink being blended if you want, sketch is nsfw though!

do you see where I flick the brush over the ink on his neck and then the ink moves? the ink there is dry, you can wet it by lightly flicking it with a blender or in my case a cg1 or cool grey 1 to wet it and then it will disperse just like it did before it's dry.

That's something that I took from the New Sun books. I have all of these "girls in distress" stories, but there was something missing in all of them for me. I didn't know that these "peril" fantasies could have "class" or something "elegant" attached, but it makes the distressing situation so much intense when characters are exuding "sensitivity".

some people gain muscle or burn fat easier than others a lot of people brush this off as "genetics" which i am slowly starting to realize is a cope and is probably their version of "talent"
the reason why some people gain muscle and burn fat easier than others is because they know how to build a workout routine that works for them, they make sure that their macros are in order and their calories are in the right range in relation to their tdee/bmr and they are consistent, you can even cheat and still hit your goals
