Podcasts generally.
I've been liking Robservations with Rob Liefeld - the dude may have been a mediocre artist, but he's definitely passionate about comics. Listening to passionate people geek out about their passions, even if I don't care all that much about the topic (though I do like the topic, comic, in this case), is always fun.

I cant stand 99% of podcasts and musik is too distracting because most of the time the songs are either too short and I get random shit songs afterwards or its just repeats until I cant stand it. Even if its a musik playlist I made I will probably be distracted by either skipping or repeating certain songs depending on my mood.

Podcasts, Audiobooks, The News or Talk Radio, Police Bodycam Footage, Vtubers Commenting On Politics, Weird ASMR roleplay, YouTube Video Essays, Whole.shows or movies I've seen dozens of times before. Sometimes I'll play something on repeat all day and add a soundtrack to it while I draw.
Today I queued up a bunch of Wu Tang and put on a season of Cardcaptor Sakura in the background while I drew porn comms for 8 hours.

Usually audiobooks (horror), because drawing is generally purely mechanical and doesn't distract you from the book. Music as well, but a book is more engaging. I watch movies/shows/etc in the background sometimes too, but not everything is good for that. Big surprise, a lot of movies are better if you actually watch them attentively.

I've been working my way through the massive 24 hour long Macroblank b-side collection (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0Dd684xc2E) for a while, between listening to other things as well.

There's also those jungle beats video game playlists, they're usually pretty excellent too, though if you listen to a few of them you start to notice some heavy repetition between them (I love Ape escape's music, Soichi Terada is a goat, but I don't need it in every friggen playlist guys). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsd2VSZVTF8

Have 4 podcast and 4 music recs, brother. Pic rel is some of the stuff I draw (I'm mainly a 3D guy now, but I still draw).

I'll also be doing a bit of a sales pitch for my music recs, I feel like anons posting music on da 4chinz in general rarely speak about the genres or songs themselves which leads to me not being motivated to click their links, I'd rather be told in advance what the stuff I'm about to click on is about before opening something which may not be up my alley. Many such cases, time is money gentlemen, I'd like to humbly advise to place a label of sorts to your links, anything so as to inform other anons what they're getting into, look at it the same way as labeling products in a supermarket instead of placing them on shelves without any identifying information.
Just an idea, you be the judge on whether it is based or whether it is cringe.

>podcasts and adjacent:
- OceanlinerDesigns (interesting videos about the history of ships with a well spoken and educated host)
- CountDankula (you know him, he covers weird irl events and people)
- PapaMeat (ditto, with a more overtly comedic direction)
- Wendigoon (also covers stories and people this time with a preference for more mysterious, esoteric or conspirace-y recountings)

>music:
I've been fixated with post-punk / coldwave / darkwave / gothic rock for the past couple of years. Big nebulous genre, lots of bass, reverb, it's melancholic, brooding, with a fascination for sepulcral themes.
Here's 4 examples:
- Nevermore - Midnight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o6c3gzzOkA (this genre can be surprisingly upbeat sometimes)
- Lebanon Hanover - Gallowdance Vladnerq Remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVUSB7Kz5kg (...or be aggressive)
- Message - Strange Voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi5uE_7EWWs (...or be depressive)
- The Sisterhood - Giving Ground https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX5cfMMM-LI (...or, finally, be groovy as fuck and otherwordly, this song's my favourite of this genre)

Do you have a particular interest or dislike? Like if suggest a videogames based podcast, does that interest you, or turn you off?

Anyway, one of my favourite podcasts is 'My Perfect Console', where a guest comes on each week and discusses their life, usually using the periods in which they were playing certain games as book marks. Then they'll tie off the interview with naming the console that would play those games they discussed.

If you're looking for something comedic, I think the Sleepy Cabin Podcast still holds up. It's just a bunch of dudes (some of whom are well known internet figures) shooting the shit - they just have great chemistry and senses of humour.

Default is Opie and Anthony. Most of my ideas come from music videos I make in my head while listening to metal music so a fair bit of that.
Lately I've been into biographies. Listened to Ozzy's this week and now I'm listening to No Angel by some rat fuck cop who went undercover to infiltrate the rat fuck Hells Angels.

Gotta be real sometimes I work better in silence but sometimes I like to throw on some background music, really depends if you're at the creative or gruntwork stage of a piece.
I've found animating roughs can only be done in silence while polishing/colouring needs music to get me through

Been listening to Grace Cummings, and am surprised she's not more well known. Her music seems like something that should be very popular in the mainstream, but I suppose her style isn't degenerate enough for today's tastes. She sings in a classic, sort of female crooner, type of way that I'm finding quite appealing.
Here's a few of her songs:

Definitley not for me, I draw nothing to do with throat singing or mongolia or medieval at all, yet that is practically all I listen to. I do however have friends whose art clearly reflects their surroundings (music/movies/etc they experienced recently).

Have you considered checking for events and cues that could tell you when he's about to proverbially puke his so called guts out? This could help get rid of your anxiety. Also maybe try throat singing it's pretty cool.
