NTA but practicing anatomy never goes into my long-term memory, but the functions and insertions and what they look like does. I find if you're drawing something similar your mind recalls how you did a certain study though.

Assuming he's not copying mindlessly — which from the breakdowns it honestly doesn't look like he is — this kind of study does help. But yeah, to really internalize it, you’ve got to apply it to full figures or your own work. Anatomy clicks when you start using it to inform the surface, not just isolating the parts.
